Who We Are
Mobile Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Leesburg, Virginia that aims to lower the rate of homelessness in within the DMV. Serving our community for over 14 years, we have earned a respected and trusted reputation.
Mobile Hope focuses on empowering homeless youth and preventing local families from becoming one step closer to homelessness.
This goal is supported by our neighborhood food distribution program, "Listen for the Honk", which delivers vital supplies (free of charge) such as fresh food, diapers, books, toys, school supplies, household items and hygiene directly into struggling neighborhoods.
It is our philosophy that if we can provide these items for free, families are able to save their money for rent, etc, stopping them from eviction and other hardships.
What We Do
Twice a month, we send a fleet of vehicles to six under-resourced communities to distribute food and clothing to our neighbors.
At each stop, our volunteers will assist staff with setting up tables, unloading vehicles, and passing out food, diapers, wipes, clothing, and toys, etc.
Volunteer Notes
Before signing up to volunteer, please fill out a Volunteer Form. You MUST be 14 years or older to volunteer, without a parent. If you are a court-mandated volunteer, you must call 703-771-1400 to schedule an interview.
If you currently attend a public school in Sterling, Leesburg, or Herndon: we would prefer that you volunteer in a location that is not within your school's attendance area. It is hard to receive help and running into someone you know while getting help could be uncomfortable to the families we are serving.
All bus stops are outside, so please dress accordingly. Rain or shine unless contacted otherwise. Please email Donna@mobile-hope.org to have your cell number added to our texting app. This app is used daily to keep our "Listen for the Honk" families informed of delays, schedule changes or cancellations.
We look forward to having you join us.
