Due to the amount of court-mandated volunteers that were referred to us in 2023, we have established new systems that will allow us to better serve our volunteers more efficiently.
_______________________________________________________________________________________
If you are a volunteer who has been mandated by the court to complete volunteer hours, please read the following information.
You MUST call the office at 703-771-1400 to set up an interview with Joe, KC or Donna. Please read the information and take the quiz before your meeting.
Rules:
- Court volunteers must fill out appropriate paperwork, complete an interview, and be pre-approved by KC, Joe or Donna. Once approved, they must complete a pre-assessment quiz before starting hours. Court volunteers will be placed in dedicated timeslots that work with both their schedule and Mobile Hope's schedule.
While court volunteers are on campus:
- Court volunteers must sign in and clock out every time they arrive or leave the property.
- Check in with KC or Joe for task list right after signing in.
- Once a task is completed, ask for the next task.
- Do not leave campus without notifying a member of Mobile Hope staff or without clocking out.
- No listening to loud OR inappropriate music while on campus.
- No fraternizing with clients. (You should only be engaging with MH employees and other court volunteers. Please limit your interactions with all others.)
- Volunteers are not allowed to operate heavy equipment or to work on a MH vehicle. (Volunteers are not covered under our insurance. This is a liability for our company.)
- If a volunteer injures themself, notify a MH employee right away!
- If a court volunteer is unable to be found, a MH employee has the right to clock them out.
- Volunteers are not allowed to receive any MH benefits, unless you are also registered as a client. (Ex. getting clothes, food, etc. If you are unsure of your status as a client, please speak with Joe, Donna, or KC.)
- No stealing!
- If a volunteer is sick or not feeling well they may not come in to work on their hours. Please call the office at 703-771-1400 if you would like to reschedule your hours.
- It is the court volunteer's responsibility to ask for updated/completed community service hours in a timely fashion. MH staff needs 48 hour notice to print out completed community service hours or to email hours to Parole Office. (You can call the MH office or let them know in person.)
- MH is not allowed to give hours without those hours being completed. We will not forge documents or give community service hours if the hours haven't been completed.
- Court volunteers that need more than 50 service hours must start their hours in a timely fashion. If it is deemed that you won't have the necessary time to complete your hours here at MH, then you must look into other organizations to also volunteer with.
If you have read through the above rules, please continue on to complete the volunteer pre-assessment at this link.
After you have completed the quiz, please call the office to schedule an interview.
